Cheating Policy
Cheating will result in immediate disqualification! We have a variety of successful methods to prevent any form of cheating. This page will give you an overview of allowed and prohibited actions throughout the rounds of the International Youth Math Challenge.

1. Qualification Round
What is not allowed?
- To copy exact solutions from someone else.
- To copy solutions from the internet.
- Using internet platforms to ask for solutions or help.
What is allowed?
- To work in groups to find solutions.
- Receiving basic help to approach the problems (e.g. from your teacher).
- Using books, internet, etc. to collect general information (e.g. definitions).
2. Pre-Final Round
What is not allowed?
- To work in groups to find solutions.
- Receiving help from any other person.
- Copying solutions from books or other people.
- Using internet platforms to ask for solutions or help.
What is allowed?
- Using books, internet, etc. to collect general information (e.g. definitions).
- Using calculators.
3. Final Round
What is not allowed?
- Using more than 60 seconds per question for the final exam.
- Opening other browser tabs, websites, or windows during the exam.
- Using other electronic devices during the exam (including calculators!).
- Using any source of information during the exam (e.g. notes, books).
- Receiving help from any other person.
What is allowed?
- Opening the final exam website and answering the displayed questions.
- Bringing a blank paper and a pencil for notes during the exam.
